The Women of the World Festival is a festival of talks, workshops and performances celebrating women and girls and the main event is held every March at Southbank Centre.
For the 2015 festival the SC development team and I built an entirely new content management system and front end which was the forerunner to the new Southbank Centre main website. This used Drupal 7 for the backend which was decoupled from the front end to allow for greater flexibility and future proofing. We then built the mobile-first front end using AngularJS.
This was the first time that Southbank Centre had an in-house development team and we worked in an Agile environment using Scrum to help deliver the project on time and with the most value.
